Summer 2019 News!

My biggest news is that after years of playing a mom on TV, I finally became one. (Hopefully all the extensive research I did to play a mom in commercials will pay off when I'm raising my son.) But there's more news! In June, Ian and I were tapped to write another feature for Lifetime/Reel One. We're working hard to get our final draft in by the end of July! My YA novel/TV project (also co-written with Ian McWethy,) is in development with Temple Hill Productions. We hope to finalize the book proposal by the end of July. And then who knows! In July I traveled back to Salt Lake City, UT to shoot a snack food commercial. (First time on-camera after having a baby was daunting. But it ended up…

Cinestory TV Fellowship: Comedy Division Winner!

Thrilled to announce that my pilot Co-Op is the Comedy Division Winner for the 2019 Cinestory TV Retreat and Fellowship! Co-Op is a comedy based on the very real Park Slope Food Co-Op, a member-owned grocery cooperative in Brooklyn known for its great cheese prices and its liberal ideals. Members from all different backgrounds, income levels and- believe it or not- political parties, (they have Republicans there!) have to work together in order to shop together. A show that examines the values and limitations of democracy and asks, how much will you put up with for some cheap cashews? The Cinestory Foundation is a great nonprofit organization that nurtures screenwriters. For any writers out there, I highly recommend submitting your scripts to their fellowship! I'll be attending the 2019 TV Retreat in March and I can't…

Adam Ruins Everything Episode 305

This November I was lucky enough to get cast in an episode of Adam Ruins Everything- a show I love. (And which a friend described as "Comedy Law & Order," because every comedy actor has to do this show at one point or another.) My episode is 305- so be on the lookout. It's directed by the incomparable duo of Jocelyn Deboer and Dawn Luebbe, (whose feature film is currently headed to Sundance! They're the best!) I play a lawyer and wear a pink power suit. So for me it truly was comedy Law & Order. Life goals achieved.

Fighting Dogs for the Disney Channel

No offense to every human actor I've ever worked with, but humans just can't compare to these CANINE ACTORS! Last Fall I played a villain hacker on Disney's K9 Undercover. This was a real challenge because I don't know anything about being a hacker or being evil. Luckily, my costars had my back. As you can see, these dawgs totally steal the show. And I am fine with that.

Directorial Debut

I've been directing for the stage for a couple of years. But this January I shot my first ever short film, Trapped. Trapped is a short about two women who get locked in a bathroom together and freak the f*ck out. I wrote, directed and produced. My producing partners were the immensely talented Jane Renaud and my fellow actor Emilea Wilson, who stars in the film with me. Shot by the wonderful Matt Klammer with sound by Tom Tierney. Trapped is currently being edited and will be released soon! Check back for updates!

Updates for September

The end of summer has been busy with lots of travel and visiting family. But there's also been some fun work stuff going on! Here's an update! July saw the final performance of All in Favor; a Meeting of the Beulah, North Dakota Town Council, a one-act sketch show that ran at UCB since the end of last year. We are taking the show out to LA for one night only this fall. (Save the date- Tuesday, October 10th, 9:30PM at UCB Franklin.) Last month I shot several new projects- a short sketch I wrote and star in- (coming soon,) and a pilot presentation created by Dave Ebert, Davram Stieffler and Drew Freed, and directed by the great Jared Lapidus. I've had several more pieces featured by Funny or Die. And last…
